Thompson Rose Company, Inc. has been supplying the floral industry for over 35 years. We started in Carlsbad, CA with the production of fresh cut roses and other cut flower types for nationwide distribution. We added indoor houseplants in 1974 as we saw import flowers as a threat to domestic cut flower production.

The ‘Year 2000’ saw the start of production at our new site in San Marcos, CA. The relocation allows us to enter the new millennium with 165,000 sq. ft. of ‘leading edge and state of the art’ production facilities. Our computer controlled environments allow us produce the high quality ‘cool grown’ products that we are known for. Our ‘cool grown’ plants and selection of the best cultivars mean you receive a plant that will travel better and last longer in any environment.

Though we no longer grow fresh cut roses, our Indoor Houseplant Department still produces a multitude of varieties of plants in 2 ¼", 4", 6 ½", and 8 ½" pots. These are in uniform terra cotta-colored pots. We grow 12 varieties of ferns, 8 varieties of ficus, 21 varieties of 2 ¼" plants, and 50+ varieties of 4" plants. This makes Thompson Rose Company an excellent source for one-stop shopping.

Our large dock and packing facilities allow us to handle multiple semi-trailers and small trucks simultaneously. Our cut flower shipping background aids us in accommodating the shipping needs of our customers. Currently over 70% of our indoor plants are shipped out of state. We actively participate with our growing neighbors in consolidating loads, allowing our customers to access the San Diego area for larger selections.
